Welcome to Johnnie Cal is our PALS Hero’s Page!
In Honor of John Calabrese
This past June, after suffering with some confusing medical issues since October 2019, John was diagnosed with ALS ( Lou Gehrig’s disease). Not something we wanted to hear, but we were fortunate enough to see a specialist at Mt Sinai in NYC for a THIRD opinion and proper diagnosis. After multiple surgeries and 2 cervical spine surgeries last September, he continued to present with physically debilitating issues. He lost use of his right arm and right hand, and began to have balance issues and increasing weakness in his left arm, hand and both legs.
We are grateful to family, friends, and the knowledge and support of Dr Scelsa and the Mount Sinai ALS Center of Excellence in NYC. Your support and friendship means everything. ❤️🙏🏻💙
Join us on October 16th at Melchior Park, as we walk our leg of St Peter’s Annual Walk to Strike Out ALS, and honor John and his battle against ALS. We will have shirts available to order for those that wish to join the team, “Johnnie Cal is our PALS Hero”
For those that would prefer to make a donation, see link below. You can also register to walk virtually!
